Independence Residences, Inc. Spring 2012 Turning Dreams into Reality Gala held Thursday April 26 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. This year’s theme is “40 Years of Awareness and Caring.” Barbara Lehrer, founder and president of both The Beacon Group and Beacon Concierge (a subsidiary of The Beacon Group) will be honored for her years of dedication to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. Barbara started her career as a speech pathologist and now employs over 300 clinicians in varying fields to serve the population of New York state.

Barbara Lehrer of Roslyn Harbor was recently honored at Queens-based Independence Residences’ spring “Turning Dreams into Reality” gala based on her 40 years of dedication to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. Lehrer is president and founder of The Beacon Group, a Roslyn-based human resources management company that employs more than 300 clinicians and offers therapy services, management solutions and concierge services in various health-related fields. She began her career as a speech pathologist.
